SCKMHCA is a district-wide organization representing various mental health professionals committed to promoting the delivery of quality mental health services and advocating for the profession and the community it serves.

The purpose of the South-Central Kentucky Mental Health Counseling Association is to (1) advance the profession of mental health counseling, (2) promote exchange of professional information, (3) provide continuing education opportunities, (4) promote standards for the training of mental health counselors, (5) promote positive relations with other state and regional professional organizations for effective advocacy of mental health issues, (6) and promote high standards of credentializing of mental health counselors.

Just a few GOALS we are working on:

• To sponsor one-day conference,
• district advertising,
• political advocacy
• awareness and integration among the profession, and

The SCKMHCA is affiliated with the America Mental Health Counselors Association, the American Counseling Association, the Kentucky Mental Health Counselors Association, and the Kentucky Counseling Association.
